High Wire Distillery Co.'s Hat Trick Botanical Gin
Several months ago I created a painting for High Wire Distillery's gin bottle. They wanted an old looking magician's poster from around the turn of the century. It was fun doing research and finding all kinds of cool posters. Below are some progress shots of the painting ending with the finished label. If you find yourself in Charleston SC, check out High Wire Distillery. They do tours and tastings of their small batch spirits including gins, rums, whiskeys and vodkas. For more info:

Scarecrows in the Garden 2013
Here is the finished scarecrow from the Atlanta Botanical Garden's Scarecrows in the Garden 2013. Below are a couple of shots of the scarecrow. I made all his cloths out of indoor/outdoor fabric so everything would keep the bright colors while outside for over a month. Instead of stuffing him with real hay, I used spray foam (Great Stuff). That way he wouldn't start to sag over time and lose his shape. The last thing I did was coat the whole scarecrow with NeverWet from Rust-oleum. I saw the ads on TV and thought I would give it a try and boy did it work great!!!! All the painted details looked fresh and new. I would recommend this product to anyone doing a project like this.

PSA Gameshow Set
After finishing up the Dr. Frankenstein set late this past week, I have been working on a PSA Gameshow set for a video shoot. It's a super fun project that's a little different from what I normally work on. Usually with sets for photo shoots I only need to worry about how it looks from the camera's point of view. I don't need to finish out the areas that are not seen. Since it's video and the camera moves around, I have to complete all sides. It's kind of like doing a set for a live theatre show. Anyway, here's a quick picture below of the progress. Hopefully I will be able to share pictures of the finished set for this project and the mad scientist set soon!
