I designed and built Little Shop of Horrors puppets and props a few years ago with the help of a very talented artist named Kim Granner. You can find her awesome work here: www.kimgranner.com! Since they were built, Greenville Little Theatre has been renting them out all over the place. Audrey 2 is currently starring at What if Production? in Charleston SC. If you are near Charleston, go check out this show. You can find out more info here: www.whatifproductions.org. Below are some great pictures with some of the actors with the BIG Audrey 2 and the gas mask in this production.

Drawing in Dirt
I spent the day on a photo shoot drawing various home illustrations in dirt on a home plate on a baseball field. The illustrations will be made into a series of ads. So pretty much I played in dirt today for work!

Finished Model Base
Here is the finished model of the sketch I put up a few days ago. Now that the model base is finished, I will cover it in over sized money. The concept is to make the building look like it is made out of money! I still have a long way to go, but it is well on it's way!

Photo Shoot Model
Working on a building model for a photo shoot that's happening later this week. I'm going by a photo that was sent by the client. I had to measure out everything so that the scale is correct on the model. Here's a quick photo of the sketch.

Wooden Cow
Here is the cow I made for the show "Minotaur." It needed to look like it had been around forever and was made with junk. I tried to use everything that I could think of. It's essentially a large puppet. I made a trap in the backend of the cow where someone could get inside. It's head moves up, down, side to side and back plus there's a small trap that the person inside can stick there head out on the back top.

Opera Lady Lamp
Waaaay back in April I built a prop that was an Opera Lady Lamp. It took me some time to figure out how to do the wiring so that it was safe & durable and it still have the look/feel I needed. I've add some photos of the process. I used Apoxie Sculpt to make the figure. It is a two part clay that has about 2 - 3 hours of working time and is totally dry in 24 hours with no shrinkage. Here is a link to their website: www.avesstudio.com. They are wonderful! I bought all the wiring stuff from Home Depot and tons of light bulbs until I found ones that had the right brightness, shape and didn't get to hot. I bought the fabric, made a pattern for the dress so that it was two piece so the top worked like a lamp shade so it could be taken off to change the bulbs. I sewed the dress and fitted it to the lamp. Finally, I painted her with enamel paint and added a wig and sculpted a helmet starting with half a plastic Easter egg. Enjoy the pics!
