This is my Business Holiday E-card. I figured I could save a few trees by sending it out through email. I had fun illustrating the lady on the card and reworking the gifts of the season!
Here's the progress of a fun print ad project that I am working on. These flat painted apple tree are going to be digitally placed in an orchard next to a real tree to show how their product is well rounded and better. The first picture show them freshly cut out of stainable plywood. I use that because it has a smoother finish then regular plywood. The second picture shows the finished paint job.
Just finished a shoot with We Monsters studio where I built a super hero costume, farmer costume and was photo stylist for the shoot. Everything turned out great. Below are a couple of shots I got. I have more that I will post later. Also, check out We Monsters. They are a great group of people to work with. Here's their site: http://www.wemonsters.net/
I worked on this a few months ago for Ogilvy & Mather. I distressed both new uniforms so the kids looked like they had been in the woods for a year. I was on the photo shoot doing the hair, make-up and covering the kids in dirt/mud. I also carved "Be One With The Wild" out of wood and a brick for the bottom banner. It was a fun shoot and the kids were very funny.
Here are a pair of Sprint Billboards that I was photo stylist on. For both I created a large box that was the same shape as a iphone and in the correct perspective for the shot. I cut up real news papers to make them fit inside the shallow box in the first billboard and in the second one I stacked up sports equipment in the same iphone shaped box.
The first Minotaur review is in and they like it!!!!! Here is the part talking about the set and prop stuff: "Directed by Rachel May, the production is quick-paced and seamless, incorporating the multifaceted set, designed by Ryan Bradburn. His eye-catching design includes a proscenium arch filled with various objects related to the story, and it includes a curtain that can be pulled shut to showcase shadow puppets at certain times throughout the show." If you haven't had a chance to check the show out, it runs until November 11th. You can find out more information here www.synchrotheatre.com.
Built this hero prop for a Maker's Mark ad a few months ago. Had fun building the words in foam and creating the bottle out of fake sand, then added real sand over it. The results made a very realistic sandcastle.
Here we are putting the set together for Synchronicity's Minotaur opening at Horizon Theatre this Friday in Atlanta. This has truly been fun being the production designer for this world premier show! For more info, go to www.synchrotheatre.com.
Dropped off the finished panels for Fabrefaction's Assassins early Saturday morning. Check out the show, it's going to be GREAT! http://fabrefaction.org
Then Saturday night we went to the FLUX Project in Castleberry Hill Arts District. Saw some amazing performance art. Here's some pics.
A few months back I played a police officer for Nature's Own Oatmeal Toaster ads. I just found out today that I am in this months Rachael Ray Magazine and on Nature's Own website: http://naturesownbread.com/oatmealtoasters. Check it out!!!
Here's the beginnings of the panels I'm painting for Fabrefaction's Assassins. Hopefully when finished they will look like old sideshow carnival banners.
I've been working a little on the prop I'm using on my holiday mailer. It looks REALLY creepy in this stage, but hopefully it will be funny and in the spirt of the holidays. If not, I guess it's my Halloween mailer... I will post as the progress moves along.
Here is the finished illustration of the Minotaur head. It is for Synchronicity's world premiere Minotaur show.
I combined the illustration with a photo that I was given to become the advertising artwork for the show. Below is the completed photo illustration. Also, check out Synchronicity's Minotaur show. It is going to be a GREAT production. You can find out more information about this show and the rest of their season here: http://www.synchrotheatre.com/
A few months ago I worked on a pipeline model for a map project. I used a really flexible large wire for the pipe and very small washers for the sections on the pipes. I had the hardest time trying to find something for the pipe to rest on and to look like the photo reference. I finally found mini toy skateboards in the party supple section of the store and was able to cut them apart and they work great. It's funny what works sometimes. Anyway, here is the model in the photo shoot.
Here is one piece from my first solo show just over a year ago. It's a portrait of Matthew Shepard. It is a mixed media painting on wooden fencing and lashed together with rope. It was a lot of work doing a solo show, but I really enjoyed the experience to show a different side to my art.
Here's a design sketch I did for advertising an upcoming 2012 haunted house. They wanted something scary, yet funny. It is a zombie lunch lady I was going to build as a large scale prop and photograph it. All the text was going in the dark part of her mouth. Unfortunately the project was canceled. So no zombie lunch lady anytime soon...
Here's a small section of an illustration I am working on. The illustration will be added to a photo to create marketing for a world premier show!!!! I will post once approved!
Working on the poster/advertising for "The Government Inspector." Here I am laying the medals, sash and buttons out before attaching for the photo shoot.
Spent the day working on the returning "Strong4Life" stage show form Children's Health Care of Atlanta and TellTale Theatre. It was a big hit last year traveling to public schools all over Georgia and this year it is already booking up fast! Check out the wonderful work TellTale Theatre is doing with CHoA!
Here are some of my sketches for the costume designs! This was such a fun project to work on!!!! I designed and built all the costumes, sets and props! Enjoy!!!!
I worked on this gnome ad several months ago and this is the first of a series! I designed and built the gnome out of a polymer clay. It was a Super fun project and afterwards Bayer had me finish the backside of him and it is displayed in their new lobby in North Carolina!
Check out this Steampunk Shakespeare-in-the-Box hero prop I built. It's being used for advertising a production of Twelfth Night. I also have detail photos on my website www.ryanbradburn.com
Check out my website www.ryanbradburn.com. I just updated it with some of the awesome new projects I have been working on including action shots of constructing a prop made of 200 real red roses!
Here is a bird puppet I created for the stage musical Go Dog Go. The show was created by the popular children's book. The bird walks and it's head goes up and down.
